Afternoon Delights

This week I’m mostly recovering from the frolics and fizz of a most fun packed hen weekend in the port of Whitby!  Nestled into the deep estuary of the River Esk, we were windswept into a nautical world of sailors and stripes and all things nice as we celebrated another of our nearest and dearest in the lead up to her tying the ‘knot’.

After sailing the high seas on Saturday, we descended upon the Rusty Shears Tea Room for a gloriously indulgent afternoon tea.  Found tucked away on Silver Street, Rusty Shears is packed full of character (and beaded lampshades) with a ‘Grannies front room’ feel which pleased me enormously.  As did the choice of thirty curious flavoured gins on offer including their very own Rusty Fig version, oh and the huge choice of teas of course.

Whilst in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago I had a delightful honey muesli trifle at the Cherry Trees Cafe in Padstow Harbour.  I also love Granola so in search of something in between I found this recipe in my lovely Primrose Bakery book that I just had to try!
